The RediRoot
® aeration pot encourages rapid nutrient uptake through the dense, fibrous root systems developed by the 360° aeration design. Maximized root health translates into bigger, healthier plants and trees. Air pruned root tips are calloused off and ready to explode with new growth resulting in no transplant shock and less plant loss overall. The first year of plant growth is faster than when started in a traditional plastic, solid-wall pot. The RediRoot
® #1 aeration pot is manufactured from heavy-duty recycled plastic that makes it sturdy enough to reuse season after season. Request a bulk, wholesale aeration pot quote.
Grow Media for RediRoot® #1 Aeration Pot
Growers of all types of trees, perennials, and other crops tend to use the same grow media they have always used with their traditional plastic nursery pots. Most use some type of basic soil mixture and we have even seen growers use less common media such as Growstones or Clay pebbles. Because of the way coco coir expands after the initial watering, we see many growers adding this to their mix. Because of the design of the RediRoot
® #1 Aeration Pot, you will lose a little bit of soil/grow media during the first few waterings, but then the mixture will regulate and accommodate the watering without much loss. The only time you may need to adjust your grow medium is if you are using a fine mix – in which case you might benefit from adding some bulk to the mixture.
RediRoot® #1 Aeration Pot Watering Schedule
The design concept of air root pruning pots is to allow the plant to quickly grow dense fibrous roots. Because of this healthy root structure, your plant is now able to take in more water and nutrients. With the combination of this strong plant root growth and the open slat design of the RediRoot
® #1 Aeration Pot, you may find yourself needing to water more frequently. As every farmer knows, we watch the plant and adjust according to what its appearance tells us. Every commercial grow operation is unique, but the air pruning process occurring with the RediRoot
® #1 Aeration Pot will increase the number of roots making the plant very efficient at drawing up extra moisture out of the grow media. This, along with temperature, may necessitate giving your plants an extra drink of water.
Benefits of RediRoot® #1 Aeration Pot
The RediRoot
® #1 Aeration Pot will maximize your grow space allowing for an increased number of plants grown in your available space. With the efficient root system developed in the air pot, most growers are able to plant in a RediRoot
® aeration container that is one container size smaller than they would normally use in a traditional solid wall plastic container. Increase root efficiency + increase plant capacity = Increased revenue. We supply nine different sizes RediRoot
® Aeration Containers for this reason:
Do grow temperatures have to be adjusted when using the RediRoot® Aeration Pot? Probably not. Whatever system you have in place to monitor and manage the temperature in your grow space will work just fine.
How do I determine what size RediRoot Aeration Pot to use? Most growers find that many plants and trees can safely be planted in one container size smaller than they use in a solid wall container while still achieving the same amount of growth. The
RediRoot® Aeration Pot causes the plant to grow extremely efficient, vigorous root systems that bring nutrients to the plant instead of being a tangled mess of circling roots.
Does the watering schedule change? Maybe. The plant is going to have more dense, fibrous roots than if grown in traditional plastic nursery pots. This, along with the open slat design of the air pot may require you water more frequently than usual.
Will the RediRoot® Aeration Pot affect nutrient schedules? No. Continue as you normally would. For a 1-2-punch unleashing optimal plant growth and production, we do suggest you add our
organic, microbial root inoculant into your schedule. This, combined with the healthy roots from the aeration container will increase the quality and volume of your plants.
Is special grow media required? No. But some growers add coco coir into their soil mixture as it expands after the initial watering to keep water from escaping through the open slats of the air pruning pot.
